Location
This photo was taken in a town called Logy Bay Middle Cove Outer Cove in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. It's about a 20 minute drive North of St. John's (Newfoundland and Labrador's capital city).Time
I enjoy early morning (sunrise) photography. So this photo was taken at sunrise.Lighting
This is beautiful natural light from the sunrise, my favorite light. As one can see from the photo, the rising sun (to the right) provides wonderful natural light and illuminates and kisses everything in it's path. It bring such a warm feeling to this image.Equipment
I used my camera (Canon 70D), I have a few lens I used on a regular basis (Tamron 18-300 mm, Sigma 17-50 mm, and my Canon 10-18 mm ultra wide angle. Also I used a neutral density 10 stop filter, my tripod and a remoting shutter release.Inspiration
Being an early morning person, I love early morning (golden hour/sunrise) photography. It is the time of day when I'm most energetic, thinking clearly and most inspired. Coupled along with my love of the ocean, it is where you can find me on many mornings, sitting and waiting for the next perfect moment to capture.Editing
I shoot my photos in RAW format, so post-processing is a must. I use Lightroom for my editing, no photoshop. Each element you see in my photos are natural. I do adjustments of things such as: highlights, shadows, sharpening, noise reduction etc.In my camera bag
I normally bring my camera, tripod, remote shutter release, filters (UV, CPL, N/D) several lenses, extra memory cards, extra batteries, lens hoods. lens caps, soft cleaning cloth, headlamp, flashlights, high pitch whistle and water.Feedback
Have patience and be persistent...because not every time we go out are we going to have perfect conditions and some times we won't get to capture what we want. I recall taking a photo this past winter. I travelled to this particular location (a 1.5 hour drive from my home) time after time trying to capture the perfect sunrise. Though I captured many great images, it was not the sunrise I was looking for. Until finally one morning I hit the jackpot and snagged the image I chased for about two years. Never give up, and don't forget to bring all of your gear. lol
