I created this wildlife picture of a Roseate Spoonbill bird preening along the Heron Hideout Trail of the Circle B Bar Reserve in mid-March of 2018. The Roseate Spoon Bill is a large bird with colorful pink to red feathers and a long spoon shaped bill. This wading bird walks in shallow water using it's very sensitive spoon shaped bill to stir insects and other small animals out of the muddy bottom under the water to eat. This wading bird will feed in fresh or salt water and prefers swampy locations for feeding or nesting.
