Photo taken in Croxteth Park Liverpool with a D500 and a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary. Out with my dogs, I had given up trying to locate the resident kingfisher when the Heron flew in. Landing on a tree at the end of an opening, I was able to get close to take some shots. Predictably, as soon as I passed he took off towards the pond and I was able to get this snap. You don’t need to go far from home to see Britain’s fantastic wildlife.
