Male Mandarin duck. They are from East Asian, Eastern Russia, in China & Japan. Not to sure how this guy got to Whitby but I was lucky enough to get to see him last Monday. Have been back a few times since but have not seen him again. They are an endangered duck less than 15,000 left. They are closely related to the wood duck
