er this "Charlie Chin" took a salmon from one of staff, brought it over to mom, "Pointednose Cow" and they both ate half. They started consuming lots of fish after that and regained their strength. They were both sold to a park called Seven Seas in Texas but before they were transported, somebody had loosened their nets and they escaped back into the wild. They returned to eating marine mammals again and T002 went on to have more offspring including this whale on the left T002C. T002 passed away in 2009 but I love to tell her story whenever we see her daughter and grandkids! The whale on the right is the first offspring of T002C known as T002C1 "Rocky". He and his siblings undoubtedly heard some amazing stories from grandma about her time spent in captivity. There seems to be some genetic deformities within this matriline as well including an albino whale, T001 "Charlie Chin" had a significant underbite and currently T002C2 "Tumbo" has suspected scoliosis and has a very warped spine which is always shocking to see.
