It was a cold winter morning (at least by Texas standards) and this Great Blue Heron had pulled his neck down and puffed up his feathers trying to stay warm. I was in a small blind and didn't see it coming and it didn't see me. I didn't realize how beautiful their feathers around their neck were until I captured this image. The bird's colors against the glassy blue and brown water make for a striking image.
