This abandoned military outpost is in the most north part of Sardinia; built in the middle of the 18th country during the Italian independence war. Its function was to control and to direct (though fire signals) the ship traffic in the Strait of Bonifacio, the 11 km sea strait between Sardinia and Corsica. During the first and second World War there were also cannons and batteries nearby, now only their basements are left.
