LABOUR

Well laid out road is the index of development. If the condition of the highway improves it will facilitate the economic prosperity. Large number of worker is employed in the task of the construction of roads. Jobless unskilled workers from the village turn up in town in search of a better standard of living. It is ironical that no one cares for the workers toiling hard to ensure the development of the country. If we visit any construction site, we will discover the development is at the cost blood and sweat of workers who remain unrewarded for their hard work. They were put up in roadside tent for months together without any basic amenities of life. They work without voicing their discontent as they do not have anyone to stand by them. They suffer silently. Failure of the trade union movement in the unorganized sectors has failed to ensure a better deal for them. It is time workers of the world should unite to demand what they deserve to live life with dignity.
