Location
This image of the Abbey Church of Durnstein was taken early October in 2015 while sailing on the Danube Scenic River CruiseTime
The exact time of day US time zones is unclear at this time, if memory serves late morning or early afternoonLighting
Light rain on an other wise overcast dayEquipment
Cannon EOS, 18-135mm zoom lensInspiration
Obviously, as a photographer your vision is keenly focused on the surrounding and quickly changing environment in your view. The distinct color, location and architecture of the Abbey quickly grabbed my focus and attention.Editing
The rainy day and overcast actually was ideal to capture not only the unique color and contrast of the church itself but also the distinct and colorful surrounding environment. So other than increasing the contrast and density of the color no other post processing required. In my camera bag
Since this specific vacation and photographic journey was extended and a bit complex lenses, filters ,flash unit and other accessories were limited to what would fit in a relatively small camera bag, Cannon Telephoto 18mm-135, Cannon zoom lens 75mm-300mm, Cannon Wide Angle 24mm, Vivitar DF-293 Flash, Neutral Density FiltersFeedback
I guess in terms of advice I could only suggest (when on vacation) that the time that is chosen to be devoted to Photography is devoted to Photography. I think we must realize that potential for great images can come and go quickly and the attention to the current view and possible future views dramatically influences your photographic success. That is not to say that all other opportunities for great images will be lost but may not be as successful as the time you devout strictly to the image process...My opinion only!
