I love taking a lens to gems and viewing them up close, under magnification the flaws and cracks becomes so highlighted it seems almost strange & alien...
For this picture i put a tiny drop of water on a piece of lapiz-lazuli and shone a pen torch at it from a distance... i took the picture with my canon and i reversed my kit lens.
