I think, for me, I try to keep it authentic and preserve the feeling. I try to make sure the picture speaks for itself than showing off my skills. I bias towards an depicting reality with its imperfections, than making it too photogenic. Also, I bias towards bending standard photographic composition rules if the photo demands it.
