It was very bright as it was afternoon... But because he was standing at the door entrance of the house the background was perfect dark n since no direct light was on him... The overall effect was that of light from softbox.Equipment

Yes, post processing is done on this image. It was a colour photograph and was later converted to monochrome, the image was cropped for a closeup feel.In my camera bag

Travel images are very powerful because they are not staged and display true emotions of a person. When one is trying to capture travel portrait we should always respect the other persons wish n make sure we r not encroaching their space and that helps in getting that perfect portrait with true emotions.
