Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Bhutan during my visit to the country few years back... The gentleman was standing at the entrance door of his house.

Time

The photo was taken in the afternoon, just post 2 pm...

Lighting

It was very bright as it was afternoon... But because he was standing at the door entrance of the house the background was perfect dark n since no direct light was on him... The overall effect was that of light from softbox.

Equipment

The only equipment used was my camera D750 and the kit lens.

Inspiration

I love taking travel portrait... N the skin n age of the gentleman was so beautiful the texture of skin was just right to produce a great image

Editing

Yes, post processing is done on this image. It was a colour photograph and was later converted to monochrome, the image was cropped for a closeup feel.

In my camera bag

Camera n about 2 or 3 lens n tripod. One of the lens is always the kit lens n one prime lens for portraits.

Feedback

Travel images are very powerful because they are not staged and display true emotions of a person. When one is trying to capture travel portrait we should always respect the other persons wish n make sure we r not encroaching their space and that helps in getting that perfect portrait with true emotions.
