The photo was takken in Tel-Aviv; Israel in the city center as a project for my photography studies that i just began and that year.Time
i was walking in the streets of Tel-Aviv and i knew i needed to capture arquitecture shots for my university project. As i wanted to make all my project black and white and with massive light contraste,i mainly shot all my project in the hardest sun hour to have those strong shadows; so i believe arount 1pm the shot was taken to benefite the strong middle-east light.Lighting
because the hour was not the best for shoting, because the sun in israel is very strong; i placed myself under the bridge to get the shadows and dont get so much light from the sun; in that way i knew that where i stand the light is going to be dark and in the buildings the light would be brighter, making the shot dramatic.Equipment
this was shot in canon5d mark3 with a 50mm canon lensesInspiration
i just began studing photography in Hadassah Academic college in Jerusalem and this was my first project ( urban project ) I always loved to be by myself walking around with the camera and meeting new people and places; and i always was facinated with new buildings i found along the way, about their arquitecture and lines; i was facinated about how people can build that and make this art; so i decided that this will be my project; about urban life, buildings and lines.Editing
i worked in photoshop most of the time; in this image i converted it to black and white, the with curves i made most of the image dark and with a brush panted where i want the dark places and then when i wanted perfect light i just adjusted it with curves and adjustment tools. In my camera bag
i dont own a lot of equiepment unfortunately. as a photography student i managed to be able to work with only the 50mm canon lenses, i really love those lenses because for their price they are really worth it, it what i could afford at the time and now. but this year i am finishing my four years of photography studies and my dream is to buy a 100mm canon macro lenses and make with it magic. so its important for my that people should know that with the minimum you can do the maximum and get more creative; because when we dont have, we use more our brain and imagination.Feedback
for something similar i would recomend to find places with hugh amount of shadows and son; try to find that contrast in the city and then everything will work.
