Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. We were traveling from Malelane gate to Skukuza rest camp

Time

The photo was taken around mid morning

Lighting

Natural lighting only

Equipment

This photo was taken with a Nikon D3100 camera with a Tamron 18-200mm, F 3.5 - 6.3. No other equipment was used

Inspiration

We saw a few elephant herd earlier without any calfs. Then we came across this herd near the road and this young calf just wanted to play and was running around without a care; lucky for me the aunts and mom were not protecting the little one which gave me the chance to take the photo

Editing

Only processed the image from RAW to JPEG with minor changes to the brightness

In my camera bag

In my camera bag I usually have my Nikon D3100 camera, Nikon DX 18 - 55mm, F 3.5 - 5.6 GII ED lens, Tamron 18-200mm, F 3.5 - 6.3 lens, 2 spare batteries for my camera and a spare 16 Gig SD card

Feedback

Alway be ready to take a photo when doing wildlife photography as anything can happen at any time and be patient
