this photo had a surprising impact on me. My friend’s son who I watched grow up is a teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. My relief at his safety and my anguish over what he and those children endured, the loss of 17 lives....The empty shoes on the hallway floor really hit me.

Ruth! I bring the picture at work today ( at school ) and I got diffrents comment on it. You were the first one this morning to react. Someone talk about suicide too. It makes me realise that my pictures can be great but also make people go deep inside. It was a good day for this picture a guess.
