Poem by my Father Robbie Wilcher

I went to the zoo the other day
it was quite large and fancy
I saw a monkey in a cage
Reminded me of aunt nancy
Aunt Nancy was a criminal
A bad girl through and through
it made me wonder if that monkey,
was a criminal to?
Did he rob a bank or steal a car
to get sent to that zoo?
Or was he just a harmless monk,
locked up for me and you.
So we can go amuse ourselves laughing in his face,
I wonder if it would be as fun if we were in his place
We lock up men for stealing cars
we lock up beasts for less
I wonder what our god will think
When he's cleaning up our mess.
