A nature reserve and a haven for a variety of wildfowl, including goldeneye, pochard, widgeon etc ... and majestic swans. There are actually two expanses of water (the other is called Birnie Loch). The area was once working quarries, it's gravel pits subsequently reclaimed and I'm lucky enough to have the result on my doorstep!
