Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Gerrard St in Toronto while I was sitting in the back of a streetcar.

Time

I believe it was taken in the early afternoon between 1 and 3pm which is usually when I head out to shoot.

Lighting

The lighting is all natural compliments of Mother Nature.

Equipment

I used my iPhone 6+

Inspiration

I usually sit in the back of the car because it has a curved window which is great for shots. It isn’t often that another streetcar comes up behind especially a short turn travelling to Lansdowne so I was lucky I guess.

Editing

I usually play with the colour and contrast, maybe adjust some tones. In this case I desaturated the outside and popped the inside colours. It looks amazing on aluminum or metallic paper.

In my camera bag

Just my apple.

Feedback

Unfortunately, the developer of this particular camera no longer provides updates so I can’t even recommend it. My rules were to have an idea obviously of an interesting subject of something specific to Toronto and giving it a little more oomph. I try to remember the placement in the view finder of the largest object in the first shot and then use the area around or in this case; within it to place the largest object in the second shot. I waited til we were farther away from the streetcar to take the second shot of it and fit it into the windshield of the same car.
