This is Dodger. He was my partner's dog who I grew very close too. He was as though our first child, but also I felt he was a soulmate. Here he is 14.5 years old at his favourite place, the estuary, where he had spent his younger days chasing crabs for fun. He was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and it was decided by the family to have him put down. I was very upset. To cheer me up my partner suggested for me to get my camera out and to take some final shots of Dodger at his favourite place with us. Here I saw a golden moment as he playfully sniffed the reeds near the water's edge. I snuck up and he looked at me with a smile just as I took the shot. A face saying thank you.
