Behind The Lens

Location

Cape Town Gardens

Time

Around 1pm and the light was perfect.

Lighting

The UV levels were perfect on the day to shoot with a rented Canon, which I had access during my lunch time at work. I was doing a work photo shoot at the school I was working at, at the time and that day I was off. I also noticed the light was pealing through the tree lines and the shadows were playing along well. I am not a pro, I am self taught but very observant when it come observing contrast, light and how it paints the earth with beauty.

Equipment

The description can be found in my profile. I had no gear except the camera and no flash was needed because the sun light was perfectly positioned over the gardens during that moment.

Inspiration

There was a cartoon in which the main character is a squirrel and I got the nick of this character.

Editing

No its all natural and needed no touch up. It was shot with natural light breaking through the tree line, during the time when sun was central over the earth.

In my camera bag

I dont have the same equipment currently like I had in the day. I rock a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 24mm wide angle, known for kicking but in low light in its class. Its a cross between an DSLR and basic digital camera and works quite well for an 8 mp.

Feedback

It all bottles down to careful observation of the light conditions via weather reports and checking UV levels and the inner light you carry as an artist. Geographic positioning plays an important role as well in relation to natural habitat, especially in public parks and nature reserves.
