Location
I took this photo in a well known place in Cork City called the LoughTime
It was taken on the 26 May 2011 at 5.11 in the evening. I love this time of year with all the different ducklings. This little fellow was waddling out and I caught this photo of him.Lighting
I used natural light.Equipment
At the time of this photo I had a Canon EOS 450D which I used. No flash and no tripod. I used a 70-300 f/5.6 lens.Inspiration
I was living near the Lough and passed it on a regular basis. I had the notion to take photos of the ducklings and one day just went out with the camera.Editing
I did very little post-processing. I shoot in RAW always. I just cropped the photo and enhanced the colours slightly. In my camera bag
I always have my camera in my bag. I now use a Nikon D700 and D3X. I also keep my tameron 24-70 and nikon 105 macro lens. I keep my flash guns in the bag too - sb800 and hahnel modus 600Feedback
For me photographing people and animals I just always focus on the eyes and wait patiently. The ducks in the Lough are well used to people and quite tame.
