Tavistock is an old stannary town in Devon which is steeped in history, but more notable for being the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake.
Water is drawn from the river Tavy that runs through the town to run the town's canal in which in it's 4 1-2 mile journey to Morwellham, the first part of it is underground.
