Location
I was out on a game drive in one of the most beautiful wild life reserves in South Africa. We were very fortunate to spot this male lion. Being very rare and having never seen a lion up close I took this picture. I was a bit scared as the lion was very close to the vehicle. He looked so peaceful and that's what I wanted to capture.Time
I always get up at early hours of the morning to go on my first game drive for the day. Around 5:30am.Lighting
The lighting is natural. Sunrise is one of the most perfect times of day to catch the best natural light.Equipment
I took this picture with my Canon EOS 1100D with no flash.Inspiration
Game drives are always a source of inspiration. Depends on what you see on a specific day.Editing
I only adjusted the colour to be a more sepia tone. I thought that it went well with the earthy colours of the lion.In my camera bag
Only my Canon EOS 1100D with my 18-55mm lense and tripod.Feedback
Timing is everything when it comes to photographing wild life. Some days you see nothing, but then nature surprises you and you just have to be ready to react.
