Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photograph in an abandoned farm house in a remote part of the North East of England.Time
I was shooting in the local area during winter. I came upon this location early afternoon. It was a nice day but cold, particularly gripping onto my metal tripod for several miles.Lighting
I love natural light and I didn't want a full burst of sunlight to stream through the windows as I wanted a less vibrant feel to the picture.Equipment
I used a Nikon D5200 with a 18-55mm kit lens (nothing fancy).Inspiration
I am always intrigued by abandoned buildings. How was it abandoned? Why? When? Who were the people that lived here? Will anyone live here again? Little marks of the previous owners exist, from the bedframe to the light switches. It conjures so many questions.Editing
Very limited. I shot in RAW and brought out the clarity and toned down the saturation and highlights. In my camera bag
I tend to carry everything. At the moment, Nikon D750, 24-120mm, 15mm and a 50mm lens. Kase Filter holder and 3 Format hitech filters, cleaning cloth, spare battery, two remote triggers, tripod and raincover.Feedback
Be careful and make sure someone knows where you are. Places like this can be in no signal areas. Treat the place carefully, trying not to disturb things.
