The is the Chinandega dump in Northern Nicaragua - a place the country, and the world, has tried its best to forget. Here, the people of the Chinandega village scavenge for survival, living of what they can take from the dump. Here, a small child, bone thin and covered in soot from burning plastic and copper wires crawling through the pile of garbage is not an unusual sight, it's daily life. Thankfully, some are starting to remember, and every year more volunteers come to help these displaced and forgotten people. But the land still rots.
