Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Leo Carillo state beach in Malibu California.

Time

This was taken at night around 10 or 11 pm I went with some fellow photographers with the option of takin astrology photography but there was a full moon that night and the long exposure came to be.

Lighting

I wanted to practice more with long exposure and the moon was a perfect light source to give the effects I wanted my picture to have. The lighting was perfect because it was to bright or to dark just perfect to capture the waves.

Equipment

This was shot with my Nikon d2x and a Tamron 20-40mm lense and my sunpak tripod. And the light from the moon.

Inspiration

I was looking to shoot the stars and the milky way but with the full moon out it wasn't possible to find so I use the light from the moon to make some long exposure pictures.

Editing

For this I use photoshop to make the edits it took me a while to get the that I have without damaging it with over editing I took a lot of the noise off trying to make it as clear as I can.

In my camera bag

I take my lenses and my nikon d2x and now I use a lense ball to give my pictures something different.

Feedback

My advice would be to look for places that are nice and dark and time when the moon would be full and the sky won't be cloudy also make sure you go with friends or fellow photographers because you guys could help each other and you would be safe.
