This was taken at the Gigrin Red Kite Feeding Station in Wales, where between 300 and 500 wild birds flock daily for a meal and perform incredible aerobatic stunts. Some birds are tagged for research purposes, and the one in the middle of the photo is Number 51. It looks different from the other red kites because it has leucistic plumage, an abnormality of feather pigmentation.
