This shot was taken at my home in Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada, on my couch if we are specific.Time
So this picture was taken as part of a playful thing, for Halloween actually. Remember the girl in the picture and I both had to work that afternoon, so the best we could do was do a morning thing.Lighting
The thing about doing a thing for Halloween in the morning, at home, was a bit hard to get the darkness I wanted, it was just my home, I was just taking pictures for fun, had no equipment. We went to the basement, where just a bit of morning light would shine , enough to make the images bit misterios.Equipment
At the time of this picture I didn`t have the type of cameras I have now. Was ether my old Sony SALT-A57 or a Samsung NX-3000 small factor camera. The Samsung was doing a very good job with the low light at the time, so that is what I used.Inspiration
At the time, I was seeing this girl, and she knew I love taking pictures of nature. She wanted me to take pictures of her but also Halloween was coming. At the time of taking the pictures she was standing by the couch and was posing, she turned around and I saw the way the light was hitting, I just felt like it would looks great if she went on a angle and bent over. It turned oput to be one of our favorite shots to date from tha tday.Editing
I just used a bit of photoshop to lighten the dark blue velvety police officer top she was wearing,In my camera bag
Well things have changed a lot since then. I now carry a Sony A7 RIV, a portable tripod, and one of my drones. On a recent trip I made to Bournemouth UK, I had the A7RIV, a FE 2.8/24-70 GM, a FE 1.4/24 GM and my Mavic air. With extra batteries and things.Feedback
Be confident and have fun, we all know that out of 100 shots maybe 10-15 are going to make the cut. But if you and the subject/model are having fun and both feel confident, a lot of great things can come out. For me was not too hard at the time. She has creativity of her own and her curves were perfect for the type of shot. Enjoy!
