I shot this images while exploring northern Spain. I am interested in exploring the different relationships, different cultures have with horses. Worldwide their are many archaic traditions, where horses play a large role. This event, Las Luminarias dates back over 500 years, it is believed by riding through smoke and fire on the eve of the festival for San Anton, patron saint of animals, the animals will be purified and protected for the coming year.
