Modeling cruise for my daughter. This was the formal selection. I was asked to explain this photo in more details. I couldn't tell you what she was thinking about. I can tell you her heart was probably heavy. I had been recently diagnosed with sarcoma cancer and poor prognosis. I had surgery and began radiation and this was taken by me when we were on break between treatment. She was a rock through it all. She faced things no 16 year old should have to and she did it with grace. This particular shot was a brief break she took from a modeling competition on board a cruise ship. I was looking for her and when I spotted her this is what I saw. So I raised my camera and captured it.

I couldn't tell you what she was thinking in this picture. I can tell you she probably had a heavy heart. A couple of months prior to this I had been diagnosed with sarcoma cancer and faced a poor prognosis with low survival rate. Had radiation and major surgery etc. This was the week before I would resume another round of radiation. She had to help me with just about everything. She wanted to do this modeling competition and had high hopes for it. I went looking for her that evening and spotted her sitting alone in her own world. I thought she was beautiful like a princess. So I raised my Camera and captured the image you see.Editing
