Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was actually taken from inside of my house with the background being my front doorway and porch.

Time

I took this one on a cold day in February when we were heading out to a family get together. My Little Man loves his hat so much because it was the same one I was wearing that day. He wanted me to photo him, and this was one of his poses (he’s a natural).

Lighting

I wanted this to seem cold, because it was freezing outside. Also, I was into more of a blueish tint at the time, so I decided to go that route with my editing, while maintaining the nice warmer colors.

Equipment

This was taken with a Sony a6000 and the 16-50mm kit lens.

Inspiration

I loved the way he looked, and the background was right. He was so excited to wear that hat.

Editing

Same as before. I was really into blueish low contrast photos, which really showed here.

In my camera bag

Currently I’m carrying around a Panasonic Gx85 with the Panasonic-Leica 15mm f1.7 attached and the tiny kit lens in my pocket for some zoom. That’s the glory of m4/3.

Feedback

Really, just shoot everyday. Doesn’t matter what it is. Most of my shots are from in and around my house with family. Others are from when I am out and about with family. I do not go on a lot of “shoots” because I work a full-time job and I love spending time with them. Just shoot whatever you can everyday for the practice. Eventually you will be able to make something amazing out of nothing at all.
