Behind The Lens

Location

Blue Moon Diner, Beaverton OR

Time

1:58 pm

Lighting

I used available natural light from the windows with slight florescent rays from the dinner Kitchen.

Equipment

I used a Canon T3, my 18-55mm lens, Tripod.

Inspiration

Our inspiration came from a local old fashion diner just down the road from where I lived at the time. This was a collaborative effort between myself and model/photographer by the name of Brandy Hope "As You Wish Photography". I worked with Brandy a few weeks earlier on another professional Pin Up shoot and we really connected with style, personality and professional presentation. This was my first collaborative project I had done since college and it was so much fun.

Editing

I did, but mainly it was very minimal. I Lightened the photo and added my logo.

In my camera bag

Back then I only carried my Canon T3, Charger, Cables, 18-55mm & 75-300mm Lenses, Cleaning Kit & extra batteries. Currently I have Canon T6 the above lenses as well as several fish eyes & macro lenses, Ring light, filters, hood protectors, iPad, Notebooks, action cams & batteries.

Feedback

I very much appreciated working with a professional model/photographer, a hair stylist and a makeup artist Sabrina Cayne. We took our time in setting it up and collaborated with several others to produce a quality shoot. I have done many paid Pin Up/Boudoir shoots for people who are looking for a fun experience to improve their self esteem and they where wonderful. But there is something extra when you work with professionals who really knows how to pose and use expression. I was very fortunate to work with Brandy because as a photographer herself, she was very aware the space we needed and frame work that we laid out. It was a fabulous experience. If you are into creative portrait photography, I recommend doing at least one shoot with all professionals, it makes a world of difference when you submit to magazines and other publications.
