In West Michigan, near Lake Michigan (just South of Grand Haven), lake effect snow was dropping heavily. The wind was generally strong all afternoon but when I entered this pine tree cluster, it was extremely calm and meditative. It was like entering a new room with a completely different atmosphere. As if it couldn't be better, the stripes of snow were positioned at the same angle on each tree.
