Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken right in my bedroom! Located on my comfy bed with bright white sheets to create a background that’s subtle.

Time

The photo was taken during night time but inside. The lights were off in the room but the night light was shining through the windows.

Lighting

I wanted the Christmas lights to pop in this picture since it was the theme of the photo. So by creating a darker tone else where it really allowed the lights to pop through and shine. They lit up the room and gave the models face a nice glow.

Equipment

The camera I used was a Canon Rebel t5i and I used a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Nothing else was involved.

Inspiration

Around the winter season fairy lights and Christmas lights are a huge thing. The idea of adding pretty lights to wrap around the model seemed to bring a normal picture to life.

Editing

The photo was a bit yellow and bright so in the end I touched up the exposure and changed the temperature.

In my camera bag

In my canon bag I usually carry my Canon rebel t5i camera with a few lens. I like the variety depending on the kind of shoot I’m going for that day. Always make sure I have a spare battery as well and SIM card because you never know what could happen.

Feedback

Just be creative with it. Lights are very fun object to shoot with and you can do anything with them. From shooting people with them or objects to add a bit of texture to the photo. Have fun and get crazy with it!!
