Location
I took this photo in our backyard in ?manu, Mount Maunganui New Zealand. Husband was hanging out the laundry and spotted the butterfly on one of his giant sunflowers. Raced downstairs with my new Canon SX730 and managed to catch it against a perfect blue sky.Time
Morning, about 8.15am. The sky was a perfect cloudless blue so no need for any editing.Lighting
No lighting other than sunshine!Equipment
Compact Canon SX730, which I had only recently bought for travel.Inspiration
It was one I'd been waiting for. Neighbours have been breeding monarch butterflies on their swan plants over the fence and I'd seen them flying about, but to catch one on the sunflower was a treat.Editing
No post processing of any kind, not even cropping. SOOC!In my camera bag
Depending on where I am, anything from a Canon 6D and Canon SX730 to an iPhone 6+Feedback
Just keep your eyes open for that moment! You can't create these - nature does.
