Thanks Charles, welcome to Avebury! It is a small but great site to visit. My advice for now though: stay in Califirnia for the next couple of months, because the weather here is unpalatable and treacherous. I hope you guys are enjoying slightly better treatment by the Gods.

Thanks Marilena. The background light was indeed beautiful. The diabolical wind northerly wind wasn't though.

Oh stunning my friend! I love Avebury, a place of power and beauty. Would appear that no matter what time of year one visits here the sheep are forever present!

I tell you what, Sal... the shearers wouldn't dare approach them right now, because they would get rammed. The thich layer of wool protects them from the unsavoury temperatures right now.

A lovely shot of the stones Mick, I love to walk up to the trees behind just to look at all the ribbons people tie to them .

Thanks Amanda! As beautiful the place can be, it was an absolute nightmare on the day. I was there early in the morning, thinking it would be a lovely day. After a while I couldn't move my fingers and my face was hurting from the freezing northerly wind.
