Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo in Rancho Cucamonga in California at a park named Red Hill Park. There’s a beautiful part in the park that looks like you’re in the woods and that’s where I took it.Time
It was afternoon around 4pm the sun was already starting to set.Lighting
I’ve always liked to take photos when the in is setting because the light just looks beautiful and it’s not to bright that it’ll overwhelm the model. Every photo is different so the time of day should vary depending on the style you’re going for.Equipment
Just my camera and lens. I had my camera set to no flash.Inspiration
My inspiration was her dark complexion and how naturally beautiful she is, so I wanted to add bright colors. The dashiki was something I saw and loved so we put our heads together and came up with the African theme photo. Always been a fan of cultural photos.Editing
The only think I did to the photo was brighten up the photo while editing. The brightness of the photo was something I wanted to pop due to the colors I used.In my camera bag
I usually just carry my camera, lens, lense wipe, battery, small tripod and business cards. Not much lol.Feedback
Finding the right place to take a photo for the theme or style you want is key. If you want a very cultural photo then having a background that suits that culture would be amazing. Like a Mexican theme photo would look amazing in a bright colored house with cacti and succulents and dirt roads to capture the essence of Mexico’s beauty of being in a Pueblo. Researching cultures is definitely a start to creating an amazing photograph.
