“You better have a very good explanation for all this.” – said the girl, quite wary about her surroundings. They were at the top of the building and a storm was fast approaching. The wind blew her hair in all directions while the man looked intently at the sky, as if looking for something lost amid the dark clouds. – “We’re not even supposed to be here! We’re like, an hour late.”
The clouds changed tones to a flickering faint light that announced the obvious: The storm wasn't coming anymore, it was right there. A few drops of rain found their way to his face and he smiled.
“Oh, we’ll be there on time, don’t you worry.” – He said, like a little child opening a present.
“Yeah, ok. We are stuck here! We can’t even go down.”
“We don’t need to.”
“Oh, yeah?” – she snorted and said with contempt. – “You gonna summon a huge bird and we’ll be riding in the skies or something?”
“Oh no… We’ll be riding something way much cooler than that.”
He took her and and calmly walked to the terrace’s edge. – “Hey… What are you… Careful!” – Now contempt was being molded into apprehension and a hint of fear. He, on the other side, was wearing a smile from face to face. The kind of smile that makes you think one’s up to something. Something mischievous. They arrived at the very edge and she coudn’t recognize him anymore. His serene facial expressions and attitude were gone. His hair looked much longer and his expression was of a trickster boy, prepared to bring chaos to his neighbourhood. He turned to her, looking at her straight in the eyes. His eyes we’re also smiling.
“We’ll be riding the lighting.” - He said.
