Many of the outdoor photos that you see on my feed were shot at my parents' farm in Northern Virginia. The amount of land and its varied flora types, combined with my parents understanding of the art process opened up many wonderful photographic opportunities. This particular shot stems from the mid-to-late October explosion of yellow blossoms across the field to the side of the front pasture. Unfortunately for me, my parents have sold their farm as a step towards their imminent retirement, and I no longer have it as a shooting location. Aside from that, however, I couldn't be happier for them. On a slightly more humorous note, my dad started a facebook album and added me as a contributor for photos from the farm over the last twenty years. As I filled it with Christmas memories and random sunsets and wildlife, the smartass in me wanted to drop a few shots like this in as well, just to see if he'd notice. What do you think?
Despite being from four years ago, this shot was previously unreleased, as I haven't had much opportunity lately for any portrait work, risqué or otherwise. So I've been revisiting and reprocessing photos from previous shoots. Part of the reason for this is a hope of finding hidden gems that I may have overlooked the first time around, but also to analyze the shoots as a whole, comparing the "keepers" to the not-so-great shots and determining what drove the difference between them so that I can improve my process in the future.
