Location
I took this photo in Sintra, Portugal, when I was heading to the castle, with a totally different ideia to capture in mind.Time
I woke up about seven o´clock, took a train to Sintra, where i started climbing stairs that lead to castle. I took the shoot at eight o`clock, more or less, when there was almost no sign of the sun.Lighting
It was a very dark morning, and a strange one to, there was a strong blue aura in the fog that gave this nice look to the picture. I had no extra lights involved.Equipment
To take this photo I used my Nikon d5200 with the kit lens 18-55mm, hand-held, without any "accessories".Inspiration
I was really looking forward to get some rad shoots with this morning mist. Apart of that I don't really remember what really inspired me, cause it was like a lightning bolt ideia. When I'm shooting with this type of clima I always remember the work of Dylan Furst.Editing
I like to get the shot right in the moment I take it, or close. In this case there was very few light at the time, I didn't wanted to push my ISO further because of the noise it would get, so the main correction was luminosity. In my camera bag
In my bag, I always carry my Nikon d5200, with the kit lens 18-55mm, a 55-200mm, and an UV filter for each one. I'm not fan of tripods, I only take it to "bigger" photoshoots, but in daily base I like to carry a gorilla pod, cause it is very versatile. I like to carry an small aputure light for those moments I need extra light, and of course, a cleaning kit, one of the most important accessories.Feedback
Take your camera, and get out of your comfort zone. Shoot smart, quality is better than quantity, in this case I only took 2 photos, one to make sure the light was ok, and the one you are seeing. Shoot manual cause it will give full control of your camera and will help you understand photography better, and off course, shoot RAW.
