The 2 hr ride in either direction costs just ₹15. The State run boats stop at some 40 points. For the inhabitants of these water-logged lands, the boat is the only means of transport, hence the rates are kept low. True, the boats are very basic, not so even wooden floors, narrow seats of coir mat cushions, with the fiber bristles peeping out. But the journey is blissful & marvelous through water, Greenery, blue skies, sunset.
