This is a really great photo! It's simple, yet captures the spirit of the animal. The colors, focus, background, and exposure are exquisite! Just beautiful!

Location
I took this photo in the "Lüneburger Heide" in Germany in a forest where the heath grows.Time
It was taken in september on an evening about one hour before the sun set. The high trees made the light look softer as the sun went down behind them. The horse was lunged by its owner and i removed the halter and leadrope afterwards.Lighting
I wanted this picture to clearly seperate in different colors. It was important to me that the horse was the lightest object in the picture.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and the Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS II USM lensInspiration
I always wanted to have a picture of a white horse galloping through beautiful flowers and this was the perfect place and time for my idea.Editing
As i wanted the horse to be the lightest object in the picture with its bright white coat i didn't want to put any fake sunlight into it to keep the feeling the picture alreay had. The horse was lunged by its owner and i removed the halter and leadrope afterwards in photoshop. I boosted the pink a bit and made sure the horse got its clear white colour. Due to an accident the horse lost its tuft a few days before the photoshoot so i had to give him a new one by building it on my own. I also removed some scratchmarks on his neck and face that distracted the photo. In my camera bag
I always have my 5D Mark IV and the EF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS II USM. I also bring my GoPro Hero 5 with the GoPro Karmagrip to my photosessions to led my partner film everything. We also bring the 600D as a backup and to capture some making-of pictures. For our customers we bring the macbook so that they can see the pictures live on screen to make sure they are happy with the outcome and that we don't miss any motive.Feedback
My best advice for taking beautiful horsephotos is to wait until the middaysun is passed because in most cases it adds too strong shadows that don't flatter the horses form. Choose the right shutter speed to freeze the movement and don't be afraid to play with the colors in photoshop to boost your photo. Always make sure to change your position to the object you photograph to get more variation in your images.
