Location
This photo was taken at the stables where my own horse lives.Time
It was taken in the afternoon at a photography class i organised.Lighting
There were almost no clouds, so it was a very sunny day with very harsh lightning. It wasn't easy to find the best lightning to avoid creating to much harsh shadows.Equipment
I used my canon eos 60D with my 70-200 2.8 lense.Inspiration
I organised this photography class and wanted to thank the owners of the horse in the picture for letting me use their property and horses as models for my students. I decided to take a few nice pictures of every horse they own to print and thank them!Editing
Just the standard optimizing contrast, lightning, erasing unnecessary objects in the background etc.In my camera bag
I always pack my true friend my canon 60D, my 70-200 2.8 lense, my kit lense 18-55 and my 50mm 1.8. Most of the time i have my tripod in the car and my flash in my backpack.Feedback
Try to observe horse poses to see when it is the right time to make the picture. There are certain moments in the galop phase that are more interesting to shoot. Try to look up other pictures of professional photographers to see where the legs should be at the moment you click the button. Your shutter speed needs to be high enough (minimum 1/500) and keep your diafragma as low as possible. And like everything else: just keep on practising!! :)
