Location
The image was taken at Great Ashby Community Centre on the outskirts of Stevenage in the UK.Time
The image was taken just after nightfall a few days before Christmas.Lighting
I turned off the lights on the Community Centre wall to reduce glare from the background and waited for a car to approach before triggering the shutter.Equipment
I used a Sony A77ii on a tripod with an 18-70mm lens and a cable shutter release.Inspiration
I'm a trustee of the centre and wanted to capture some images of the tree. The car park by the centre always has cars coming and going, so I wanted to include the car light trails to illustrate that and to not just make it another Christmas tree picture.Editing
Not this time.In my camera bag
Camera body, 18-70 and 75-300mm lenses, shutter release, flash, extension tubes.Feedback
Puddles are great if capturing light trails as you can get the main trails and reflections. A longer exposure is good and can lighten the sky if you're taking the photo at the right time.
