Hiking to the upper pali of Kilauea Hawaii looking for surface breakouts of lava. I started the hike in the afternoon in order to arrive in time for the best blue hour light and hopefully coincident with a breakout. This one was found at just the right time. However soon after both the feet of my tripod and the soles of my boots started to melt so it was time to retreat. Mount Kilauea, Big Island, Hawaii.
