Location
This was taken in my yard located in Quinton, AL. Quinton is located about 28 miles north of Birmingham.Time
I took this about 7am. I woke up and it was still snowing. I ran outside as quick as I could before the sun started peaking behind the clouds melting it away.Lighting
I tried to make this photo look a little weathered. The way you would see an old post card.Equipment
I use typically a Canon SL1 with a 55/75mm lens.Inspiration
I think Alabama is very underestimated in its beauty. I have been very fortunate to live in a very rural area. For this is where most of my pictures are from and why they look so rustic.Editing
I used a few hand edits in Photoshop. I only darkened the whites to get the glare down on the snow,In my camera bag
I typically carry my Canon SL1 body. This is the first DSLR body I have received. My husband bought it for me for Christmas several years ago. I also have several lenses and cleaning supplies. I carry my 25mm lens, 55/75mm, 105/250mm and a 50mm lens. I like to practice on flowers and my pets a lot. To me those are the most readily available and I can play with focus and angles.Feedback
Biggest advise I can give anyone is have fun with it, and care for your equipment. When it's snowing it is very easy to get moister inside everything. When taking the actual photo take an abstract point of view. You'll be amazed at the flakes you can catch.
