Hector Dolphin [Cephalorhynchys Hectoris ] is only found in New Zealand waters. At 1.4meters fully grown it is one of the smallest dolphins in the world and unfortunately one of the rarest with a population of about 8 to 10.000. They are playful animals, and this one and many more small pods swam around our boat on an excursion to swim with the dolphins in Banks Peninsula. One of the most memorable experiences of my life.
