Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a photo studio of a photo school in which I studied (in particular, studio shooting).

Time

Most likely this was taken in January in the evening.

Lighting

Since I wanted to get this shot completely artistic and focused on the model and her enchanting nature - this shot was taken in the photo studio in complete darkness. So I decided to go with just a few sources of light, I've lightened up bright from forward with a beauty dish on a weak impulse, and to create some soft backlight I used a softbox from below. The degrees of lights were almost opposite.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D90 camera with a 50mm f1.8D lens, a beauty dish, and a softbox.

Inspiration

I guess I was just impressed by the feature films.

Editing

Aye, I used a little Photoshop, but the edits were minor and the skin texture remained almost intact. I used just a few layers for this photo, corrected minor flaws, evened out the shadows, and made the skin slightly soft to merge the model with the whole idea.

In my camera bag

A few lenses like portrait, standard, and zoom. A few flashes, the transmitter, and the camera itself. Sometimes I take the tripod when needed.

Feedback

Well, interesting photographs are most often born when a concept is clearly presented in the imagination of the photographer. Or more simply, fall in love with low-key photography and everything will work out without advice. :-]
