Location
This photo was taken in Iceland near ThingvellirTime
Early morning in October just before sunrise around 730.Lighting
As this was just before sunrise it was what's sometimes called the Blue Hour hence the richness of the blues and greensEquipment
Panasonic TZ100 (1" sensor) - no other equipment.Inspiration
I was travelling in a minibus with a group of friends on an Icelandic Golden Circle tour. We set off in the dark but as the dawn broke we were crossing lava fields stretching across to mountains of extinct Icelandic volcanoes. The patchy blue cloud mirrored the patchy snow on the mountain tops and the patchy green moss on the endless undulating black lava was mesmerising.Editing
Simply raised the brightness and contrast a little. In my camera bag
When travelling I just carry my TZ100 with a small tripod foot attached. I carry it with me always. Its compact with a big sensor for such a small camera and the 10x zoom is very useful.Feedback
Its always about being in the right place at the right time. I was just lucky to be in there when I was. I'd love to go back with my Sony A3 and a fast lense but I'd probably not capture the scene in the same way.
