Wow!
I couldn't figure out how I could have possibly missed this on my trip to Gyeongju (2007). I wandered around the fortress remains, and my Lonely Planet guide didn't mention this. Then after seeing your photo I did some research and found that this modern reconstruction wasn't built until after that.
